Activity Programs

ONSITE FITNESS CLASSES     

BCPS Employee Wellness has partnered with local Fitness and Wellness clubs to promote a 12 week onsite fitness class program, offered onsite after school/work hours, with classes ranging from yoga, Zumba, step aerobics, and boot camp (among others) based on employee interest.

10,000 STEPS WALK PROGRAM

It is recommended that adults walk 10,000 steps per day. How far is 10,000 steps anyway? The average person's stride length is approximately 2.5 feet long. That means it takes just over 2,000 steps to walk one mile, and 10,000 steps is close to 5 miles.

Our 10,000 Steps Toward Wellness Program is an 8-week individual program that encourages people to increase their steps to 10,000 a day. It is pedometer/activity tracker based. If 10,000 steps a day seems a bit out of your reach, don’t get discouraged – WALK! The program is designed to reward increased walking.
